Welcome to the Media Center at WM Kennedy
Mission
Statement
The faculty and staff of WM
Kennedy Elementary School believe that each student should be
accepted as a unique individual, worthy of respect and
understanding. To accommodate individual learning styles the school
personnel strive to provide educational activities that are
challenging and developmentally appropriate. Working
cooperatively with parents and the local community, our commitment
is to help each student achieve his maximum potential and create a
life long love for learning.
It is the mission of WM Kennedy
Elementary School Library Media Center to provide a well-rounded
program designed to develop the child academically, physically,
emotionally, and socially. We strive to prepare each
individual student for life by promoting responsibility,
self-discipline, and dedication to each task.
Equal
Access
The media center at WM Kennedy
Elementary School possesses a comprehensive materials collection of
current media, books, reference sources, and periodicals in print
and electronic formats. These support teachers and students
in implementing our curriculum and instructional programs.
Our library is stocked with more than fourteen thousand titles
available to each child at any given time. The library is
accessible on a daily basis to students and staff members who are
in need of media services, materials, or equipment. We
currently use the Atriuum Booksystem program for
circulation records and as a library search tool. This system
is available to all teachers in their classroom, as well as at a
computer station housed in the media center.
